DHS 40 Hour Initial Weapons (A-9) Course                                                                    

This course is a weapons requirement for Protective Service Officers (PSOs) who work on government contracts. Candidates will learn firearms maintenance, safety and handling, and become familiar with weapons they are to be assigned on contract and the A-9 Qualification course.

NOTE:  Students must meet the minimum requirements of 185 or better half-way through the course and 200 or better on the last day of the course in order to receive an Exhibit for completion of the course.

NOTE:  This course does not include the purchase of ammunition.

NOTE:  This course does not include an A-9 Qualification. That must be done with an assigned weapon from an employer.
