H.R. 218 Law Enforcement Officer Safety Re-Qualification Course:

President George W. Bush signed H.R. 218, The Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act of 2004, which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from State laws that prohibit the carrying of concealed firearms. The Metropolitan Police Department Security Officers Management Branch has implemented a re-qualification course for retired Metropolitan Police Officers. This is a mandatory course that must be taken in compliance with H.R. 218. Items needed for the course are as follows: the firearm and holster that you wish to use and carry concealed, ammo (a minimum of 52 rounds), eye and ear protection, and target(s).

NOTE:  This course does not include range fees, firearm, nor ammunition.  All items can be rented at the range.
